Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the JobCompanion platform. Please read them carefully before using our services.

1. Definitions and Platform Description
"JobCompanion" refers to the job matching and application management platform available at jobcompanion.app, including all associated web applications, APIs, and services operated by JobCompanion ("we," "us," or "the Company").
"User" or "you" refers to any individual who registers for, accesses, or uses the Platform.
JobCompanion is a job matching and application management platform that uses artificial intelligence to help users discover relevant job opportunities, manage their application pipeline, and track their job search progress. The Platform does not guarantee employment outcomes and does not act as a recruitment agency or employment intermediary.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using any part of the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and all other policies incorporated by reference. If you are using the Platform on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
3. Account Registration and Eligibility
- You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account on JobCompanion.
- You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information as necessary.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
- You must notify us immediately at support@jobcompanion.app if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
- One person may not maintain more than one active account. Duplicate accounts may be terminated without notice.
4. User Responsibilities and Acceptable Use
By using JobCompanion, you agree to the following:
4.1 Accuracy of Information
You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your resume, profile information, and any data you upload to the Platform. JobCompanion does not verify the accuracy of user-submitted information. Submitting false, misleading, or fraudulent information may result in immediate account termination.
4.2 Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Platform using automated tools
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Platform
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform or its infrastructure
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or any content that could harm the Platform or other users
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
- Use the Platform to spam, harass, or send unsolicited communications to employers or other users
- Circumvent any rate limits, access controls, or security measures implemented by the Platform
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit any part of the Platform without written authorization
5. AI Features and Limitations
JobCompanion uses artificial intelligence to assist with resume parsing, job matching, and application suggestions. By using these features, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- AI-generated job matches, suggestions, and recommendations are provided for informational purposes only. They are not guarantees of employment suitability, interview invitations, or job offers.
- AI outputs may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You should independently verify any AI-generated information before relying on it for important decisions.
- JobCompanion does not guarantee that AI-powered matching will identify all relevant job opportunities or exclude all irrelevant ones.
- You retain full control over all application actions. The Platform does not submit applications to employers without your explicit review and confirmation.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Platform — including but not limited to software, algorithms, design, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks — are owned by JobCompanion and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of all content you upload to the Platform, including your resume and profile data. By uploading content, you grant JobCompanion a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process, store, and use that content solely for the purpose of providing the Platform's services to you. This license terminates when you delete your account or the relevant content.
7. Subscription, Billing, and Refunds
JobCompanion may offer free and paid subscription tiers. Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
- All fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or as explicitly stated in our refund policy.
- We reserve the right to modify pricing with at least 30 days' advance notice to existing subscribers.
- Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of your account.
- Taxes may apply depending on your jurisdiction and are your responsibility.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, JOBCOMPANION DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
- Warranties that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses
- Warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of job listings or AI outputs
- Warranties that the Platform will meet your specific requirements or expectations
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, JOBCOMPANION AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any hiring decisions made by employers, including rejection of applications submitted through the Platform
- The availability, accuracy, or completeness of job listings sourced from third-party providers
- Loss of employment opportunities, income, or career advancement resulting from use of the Platform
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform
- Data loss, unauthorized access, or security breaches beyond our reasonable control
In no event shall our total liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Platform exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $100, whichever is greater.
10. Account Termination
Either party may terminate the account relationship at any time:
- By You: You may delete your account at any time through the Platform settings. Upon deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- By Us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to the Platform or other users.
- Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) shall remain in effect.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable to SaaS platforms operating internationally, without regard to conflict of law principles. For users in the United States, disputes shall be resolved under the laws of the State of Delaware. For users in India, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000.
We encourage resolution of disputes through direct communication. Please contact us at support@jobcompanion.app before initiating any formal legal proceedings. We commit to responding to good-faith dispute communications within 10 business days.
12. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice on the Platform at least 14 days before taking effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Platform and may delete your account.
